abreva does not work for me what so ever... I use camphophenique, rubbing alcohol to dry it out or anbesol to dry it out. you can try hydrocortizone it could'nt hurt.Can you use cortizone cream for coldsores on face?
Please do not self medicate. If your grandpa needs to apply something extra, consult the doctor.
If it's a cold sore try Abreva, it's in a tiny tube you can get at most chain drug store or walmart. It's around $15.00 - but it works.
