Has anyone else had side effects to a pimple cream containing benzol peroxide?

i used this cream called benzac, and it caused a huge itchy red rash all over my chin and it actually burnt some of it away and now the burns leaking. does anybody know how to help this!?

thankyouHas anyone else had side effects to a pimple cream containing benzol peroxide?
Use a Q-tip and apply it on your pimples ONLY. Don't spread it all over your chin because that's what i did and got this burning sensation all over . Don't put on too much, it'll obviously irritate and dry your skin.Excessive use will make your skin peel.It shouldn't be used on large areas, only a little bit on the actual pimple .

Everyone's skin is different and reacts differently. They do sell BP in a lower concentration maybe give that a try instead. The one you're using sounds like it is too strong...Has anyone else had side effects to a pimple cream containing benzol peroxide?
Benzol peroxide is toxic to bacteria and is used in anti-pimple products to kill bacteria in human skin pores. So is salicylic acid. Those medicine also have some harmful effects on skin cell. This is why you have itchy red rashes. Just stop using benzac, and then your skin will recover in a week. If you have pimples, you can try Chlorella Gel Cleanser. It is made of edible algae, food materials and contains vitamins, Carotene, chlorophyll, amine acids, proteins, SOD enzyme, alga polysaccharides . Chlorella Gel Cleanser can clean corneous cells, sebum, sweat, dust, and removes pimples quickly.
I haven't used it but i have been thinking about it.

You are supposed to start off with a lower percentage cream like 2.5 or 5%, then if the pimple don't go away after a few week try the 10%

Also, they recommend trying it on a small patch of skin first because some people have sensitive skin and it reacts to it causing burning itching and peeling.

I think the best thing to do is use the lowest percentage cream and only put a little bit on and see how it goes. If it continues to cause problems use something else.

I've been using 3% hydrogen peroxide and it helps a bit but my pimples haven't all gone away.
YUP. I used Proactiv about a year and a half ago and it contains 10% benzoyl peroxide... :O

I got the same rash you have. I got it starting from the middle of my cheeks and it extended all the way down my neck and it itched like a mother! I looked ridiculous, make up didn't cover it, I kept scratching like a flea infested chimp.

Um, I would stop using that cream IMMEDIATELY. Is the ';leaking'; clear? It could be that the top layer of skin was removed and now it's oozing a little bit. I've had this happen to me if I accidentally rip a scab off or something.

Wash your face with water, dab a cotton ball with some alcohol or something to disinfect it, and keep it open so the air heals it. You could also put some neosporin on it to prevent infection and to stop any scarring.
i havent tried benzac.. but ive tried panOxyl.. 5%.

Its not that harsh, but it does make my skin turn red and makes my skin peel. But no rashes.

But wow, that seems pretty harsh, try not to put any more stuff on your chin for a bit, since its leaking, it might scab a bit and peel alot. But dont touch it. Clean the stuff off gently, and use a light ointment that youve been using to heal wounds. (So that we all know that it wont make your rash worse), and then throw that benzac stuff away.

If youre worried, take it to a dermatologist, they know what creams to use and how to make it not scar. :)
It's probably an allergy. Try tea tree oil, sulfur, or salicylic acid instead. Those don't have the bleaching factor either. To help it, I would probably put Neosporin on it
